Research

The Renal Electrolyte and Hypertension Division over the last 50 years has maintained active research programs directed at the structure and function of kidneys in health or disease. Our training program has also been funded continuously for the last 25 years. Scientific investigations reflecting our research interests utilize the tools of molecular genetics, gene therapy, cellular biology, immunology, physiology, electrophysiology, biochemistry, and clinical epidemiology. Special emphasis is focused on research which bridge in vitro with in vivo approaches, fundamental science with clinical applications, or experimental models with human disease. This guide reviews the current research opportunities in our academic program.
