| Julie Hagan Koehler is an experienced healthcare manager with more than 25 years experience in two major academic healthcare facilities in Philadelphia. She has worked at Penn in the Department of Surgery since 1995 working closely and collaboratively with surgeons, most recently directing both the business and administrative aspects of the division of Urology. She is senior director for all regulatory aspects of the Department of Surgery including JCAHO and HIPAA standards. Julie obtained her master’s degree in business at LaSalle University and her undergraduate degree from St. Joseph’s University. She has served as President of the National Association of Academic Surgical Administrators.
Urology Scope of Responsibilities: include all business aspects of the division of Urology. The Division of Urology is located at each of the three University of Pennsylvania Health System hospital sites: Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, Pennsylvania Hospital and Penn Presbyterian Medical Center.
Penn Urology offers the latest in techniques to evaluate and manage all types of urologic cancer. A team approach is adopted for difficult problems, a Penn innovation in this area, which includes the expertise of designated radiation and medical oncologists. Penn Urologists have made significant contributions to the knowledge base in virtually every area of the field: cancer including robotic prostatectomy, lower urinary tract function and dysfunction (including urinary incontinence and obstruction), stone disease, urinary tract reconstruction, infection and inflammation, uroradiology, male sexual health, male infertility, and virtually every area of pediatric urology. |
