Shannon started her career in nursing after graduating from the University of Scranton in 1998.  In September of 1998 she began working on a general medical surgical floor with a focus in head and neck cancer surgery and urology.  She continued working there while attending the University of Pennsylvania Adult Acute Care Nurse Practitioner Program from 2005-2008.  After Graduating from that program she began working with the Endocrine and Oncology Surgical Service at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania.
