Dr. Bar has been a Professor of Surgery at Pennsylvania Hospital for 40 years. His surgical interests have been in GI, breast, hernias and ano-rectal problems. After graduating from Tufts University of Medicine he did his rotating internship at Philadelphia General Hospital, and his General Surgery Residency at Pennsylvania Hospital (PAH), followed by two years in the U.S. Army as a Clinical Instructor. He was in Philadelphia Magazine “Top Docs” 2002.

In addition to the clinical workload teaching residents and students has been a joy and a challenge. His other interests include materials management, professionalism and patient safety at PAH as well as University of Pennsylvania Health System.
