Jessica completed her undergraduate education at Tufts University and attended medical school at Mount Sinai School of Medicine.  She is currently a clinic 5th year resident.  She spent 2 years in the lab of Dr. Brian Czerniecki studying tumor immunology and working on a mouse model for a dendritic cell-based cancer vaccine targeting melanoma. Her current fields of interest include surgical oncology and endocrine surgery.

Description: Developed a mouse model using C57Bl/6 mice to test a dendritic cell-based cancer vaccine targeting the BRAF V600E mutation.  Analyzed tumor growth, survival, and CD8+ T cell sensitization of vaccinated mice in both prevention and treatment trials.  Participated in a project analyzing innate ability of dendritic cells to participate in tumor cell lysis.

Description: Retrospective analysis of laparoscopic appendectomies performed at Mount Sinai Hospital to determine the incidence of recurrent “stump” appendicitis with laparoscopy as well as the appropriate management of these recurrences.

Description: Analyzed the historical and political factors facilitating Spain’s transition to a national universal health care system. Studied the structure of Spain’s national health system and participated in clinical rotations in El Hospital Clinico San Carlos, a public teaching hospital in Madrid.
