Dr Mavroudis is a fourth year resident in the Cardiac Surgery Direct Residency Program and is currently a surgical research fellow in the laboratory of J. William Gaynor and Daniel Licht. His primary research interests are in novel neuromonitoring techniques during deep hypothermic circulatory arrest and genetic modifiers of outcome after cardiac surgery in neonates. He plans to pursue a career in academic cardiac surgery.

Laboratory Assistant for Drs. Wael Barsoum and Joseph Iannotti in orthopaedic surgery research, Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine.
Definition and measurement of the acetabular vault using 3DCT imaging and computer modeling software to better map out surgical landmarks for complex acetabular reconstruction in patients with advanced degenerative disease.
 
Summers, 2004-2007:      
Laboratory Assistant in Dr. Susan Crawford’s Laboratory in angiogenesis research, Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine.
In vitro studies of various factors such as an adipogenic milieu and thrombospondin-1 that regulate both murine and human prostate cancer cell proliferation.
