Derek Nathan is now in his fifth and final year of clinical training. After his third year of clinical training, Derek spent two years in the laboratory of Dr. Benjamin Jackson of the Department of Vascular Surgery and Endovascular Therapy, where he investigated the role of wall stress in thoracic aortic pathology, and studied clinical outcomes of cardiovascular disease. Derek plans on pursuing a career in academic vascular surgery, and will pursue his vascular surgery training at the University of Washington in Seattle, Washington.
