The LCME, a medical school accrediting body, has a requirement called ED-2. You will be keeping a web-based log of your patients. Be sure to enter your patient encounters online for General Surgery and your Subspecialties in the Requirements Checklist in OASIS. You must record the required number of encounters as stated in your syllabus.
Patient encounters must be entered within 7 days of the completion of each rotation. Within 7 days of the completion of the surgery block, you must have satisfied the patient encounter requirements. You will not qualify for a grade of HONORS in surgery if you do not complete these tasks on time. |
