PROFESSIONAL MEDICAL EDUCATION
The Professional Medical Education office of the Department of Surgery is responsible for coordinating all CE and CME-Certified Conferences offered through the Department of Surgery. In cooperation with the CME office of the School of Medicine, the Professional Medical Education office of the Department of Surgery will aid in all aspects of meeting planning and course development. With the addition of this service, it is the overall goal of the Department of Surgery to increase the number and quality of CE and CME programs offered through the Department.

- Identifying the target audience for the course
- Assessing the educational need for the course
- Establishing the course educational objectives
- Identifying potential invited faculty for the course
- Considering the educational methods to be utilized for the course
- Identifying potential sources of funding for the course
