| Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) |
The Advanced Trauma Life Support Course is a CME developed program by the American College of Surgeons Committee on Trauma in Chicago. It is targeted and designed for doctors who first attend to the injured patient and has greatest opportunity to impact outcome. The ATLS program is revised every four (4) years to keep abreast of changes.
The two-day ATLS Student Course teaches medical core content in an interactive format with hand-on skills sessions in simulated trauma settings. The Student Refresher course follows a half-day or one-day course format. Successful completion status of either course is valid for 4 years.
The ATLS Instructor course teaches the participant how to teach the ATLS Student Course. Student Course participants, identified as having instructor potential may advance to the Instructor course within two (2) years of completing the Student Course. You must be invited or recommended by the OLSE/ATLS Course Director to participate in the OLSE ATLS Instructor course.
More information can be found regarding the American College of Surgeons and the ATLS program at www.FACS.org. |
