Enrichment Program

The Educational Enrichment Program is an important component of the Philadelphia IR-BU Center designed to attract young investigators to the field of urology and support their research in the laboratories of key investigators.

Philadelphia IR-BU Center currently seeks applications from graduate, post-baccalaureate and undergraduate students to participate in the Student Scholars Program. The Program is designed to introduce the students to the field of Urology research and acquire basic science and translational research experience in the laboratory of an expert investigator. The selected students will work with a faculty mentor during the scholarship period (January-July 2014). A detailed report and an oral presentation are mandatory at the end of the training.

A limited number of students will receive a stipend support during this period from the Center.  Interested applicant should submit the CV, copy of the transcript and provide the names and contact information for 2 persons for recommendation letters electronically to Dr. Anna Malykhina, P20 Center Director via email: Anna.Malykhina@uphs.upenn.edu.

All application materials must be received by December 31, 2013. Students accepted into the program must be eligible to work in the United States. While prior research experience is typical of accepted students, it is not required for acceptance. Students selected for the program will be notified by email in the first week of January, 2014.

The Scholar Program is open to the students from Greater Philadelphia area. Applications from women and members of underrepresented minorities are strongly encouraged.
