About Our Division
The prime focus of the Division
of Colon and Rectal Surgery is the diagnosis and treatment
of diseases and ailments arising in the anus, rectum, and
large bowel (colon). All of the Division surgeons have completed
fellowship training in this specialty and are board certified
by the American Board of Surgery as well as the American Board
of Colon and Rectal Surgery. PENN colorectal surgeons are
highly experienced and committed to providing the entire spectrum
of care for their patients. The Division sees patients with
diverse problems, including colon, rectal, and anal cancer,
inflammatory bowel disease (Crohn’s and ulcerative colitis),
diverticular disease, problems with incontinence and prolapse,
as well as hemorrhoids, fissures, and fistulas. The Division
specializes in diagnosing colorectal conditions by colonoscopy,
