Adrenalectomy

Dr. Fraker

Both benign and malignant tumors can involve the adrenal glands. In consultation with other specialists in endocrinology, nephrology and medical oncology we work together to decide the best plan of care for each individual patient. When tumors need to be removed, many of our patients qualify for the minimally invasive removal of the adrenal gland called laparoscopic adrenalectomy. This procedure requires a short hospital stay. Other patients will require the “old fashioned” technique of an “open” adrenalectomy. This procedure is more involved and will result in a longer hospitalization and recovery time.
