Spleen Diseases

Surgeons in this program work closely with Internists, Oncologists, Hematologists, and Infectious Disease Specialists where appropriate for the diagnosis, and treatment of disorders of the spleen.  Laparoscopic and open surgical approaches are used for the diagnosis, staging, and treatment of neoplastic diseases (cysts, lymphomas, Hodgkin's Disease, etc.), infectious diseases (abcesses, echinococcal infections, fungal infections, etc.), and hematologic diseases (platelet disorders, hemolytic disorders, etc).
