Dr. Pavan Atluri completed his general surgery and cardiothoracic surgery training at the University of Pennsylvania. He remains on faculty in the division of cardiovascular surgery. Dr. Atluri’s clinical interests are focused on minimally invasive cardiovascular and valvular surgery, mechanical circulatory support, cardiac transplantation and conventional and molecular myocardial revascularization. His research interests are in the areas of minimally invasive cardiac surgery, myocardial neovascularization, myocardial regeneration, and management of heart failure. Dr. Atluri has a translational research lab focused on tissue engineering, progenitor cell mediated myocardial vasculogenesis and myocardial regeneration.
