Feredun Azari is currently a first year categorical general surgery resident. He was born and raised in Baku, Azerbaijan and immigrated to United States in his early teens. Dr. Azari is fluent in Azeri, Russian, and Turkish.

Dr. Azari majored in chemistry at George Mason University before attending University of Virginia School of Medicine. He has participated in various research projects during his undergraduate and medical school years. Currently he has a strong interest in the impact of various surgical techniques on long term outcomes of post-liver transplant patients and graft survival.
