Dr. Shakir is a first year resident in the integrated plastic surgery program. Prior to entering residency, he completed translational research related to craniofacial bone tissue engineering under the direction of Drs. Joseph Losee, MD and Greg Cooper, PhD through the Physician Scientist Training Program at the University of Pittsburgh. He plans to pursue a career in academic plastic surgery.
