After graduating from Tufts University of Medicine Dr. Allen Bar did his rotating internship at Philadelphia General Hospital, and his General Surgery Residency at Pennsylvania Hospital (PAH), followed by two years in the U.S. Army as a Clinical Instructor. He has been an Assistant/Associate Professor at Pennsylvania Hospital for 32 years. His surgical interests have been in GI, breast, hernias and ano-rectal problems. In addition to the clinical workload teaching residents and students has been a joy and a challenge. Recently he has become involved with materials management and patient safety at PAH as well as University of Pennsylvania Health System.
