Alan Schuricht MD FACS, on staff at Pennsylvania Hospital since 1993, is currently Associate Program Director for the UPHS General Surgery Residency Program.

Board certified in general surgery and a fellow of the American College of Surgeons, Dr. Schuricht has a strong clinical interest in laparoscopic surgery for many disease states, including weight loss surgery, hernia (inguinal and ventral), and all areas of gastrointestinal surgery (including: GERD, achalasia, gallbladder disease, diseases of the spleen, and benign and malignant diseases of the small and large intestine, stomach and adrenal gland).

He has written numerous papers on cancer and laparoscopic issues, and has lectured and trained surgeons in surgical techniques locally, regionally and internationally.

Dr. Schuricht was recognized in Philadelphia Magazine's May 2002 Top Docs issue.
