Dr. Mullen graduated from Harvard College with a BA degree in 1963, and from the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine receiving his MD degree in 1967. He successfully completed his general surgery residency training at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania in 1973 becoming Board-Certified by the American Board of Surgery in 1974.
