Dr. Golden is Chief of the Division of Vascular Surgery and Endovascular Therapy at Penn Presbyterian Medical Center, whose clinical interests include evaluation and treatment of patients with aortic, visceral, renal, carotid and peripheral arterial aneurysms and occlusive disease. He has an NIH-funded laboratory, and his research interests focus on the study of arterial and vein graft wall biology, in order to prevent vessel wall degeneration, vascular stenosis and bypass graft failure. Dr. Golden is exploring the role of growth factors and heat shock proteins in the vessel wall and their influence on current treatment modalities. He is also exploring methods of delivering genes to the vessel wall to control the failure of current treatment modalities.
