Dr.
Szeto has a special interest in adult cardiac surgery.
His expertise involves thoracic aortic surgery and complex valvular
heart surgery, including valve-sparing aortic root replacement and
minimally invasive mitral valve repair. Dr. Szeto is also particularly
interested in percutaneous valvular surgery and endovascular stent
grafting of thoracic aortic diseases. Dr. Szeto is also involved
with all other aspect of cardiac surgery including off-pump coronary
artery bypass grafting, mechanical assist devices, and heart and
lung transplantation.
His research interest is in the development
of percutaneous techniques for valvular and thoracic aortic diseases.
He has been involved with the development of an advanced integrated
training program that emphasizes the integration of catheter-based
interventional skills and conventional cardiovascular surgery.
