Dr.
Schwab is Chief of the Division and is
known internationally for his work in damage control
surgery and the care of complex trauma. In addition,
he is the director of the Firearm
Injury Center at Penn (FICAP) which is an extramurally
supported research center dedicated to the assessment
and strategic planning of firearm injury prevention
research throughout the United States. FICAP supports
several full time faculty members and funds both intramural
and extramural pilot projects.
