| Dr.
Raper’s research interests include
a variety of legal topics, due in large part to his
enrollment in Penn Law as a part-time law student.
Disclosure of adverse
outcomes: He has completed a pilot project
in which faculty members interact with a standardized
patient while disclosing an adverse outcome. This is
likely to be expanded into a course for select faculty
members.
He is engaged in pro bono work
in the following areas:
- Developing an informational
piece for physicians on informed consent;
- Consulting on an informational
document on the litigation process for physicians;
- Updating a legal reference
guide.
Lastly he is engaged in the production
of scholarly works regarding the limits of individual
autonomy and health-care decision-making in an international
