As a contractor with the University of Pennsylvania Health System (UPHS), you should be aware that UPHS is strongly committed to conducting its mission with the highest of ethical standards and in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations. Toward that end, I want to inform you of important resources made available to you on our web-site.

Consistent with the Deficit Reduction Act, UPHS has adopted a policy to disseminate information regarding the role of the Federal False Claims Act and relevant state laws in preventing and detecting fraud, waste and abuse. UPHS has also adopted Principles of Responsible Conduct that sets forth expectations for conduct with the highest standards of integrity and ethics. Both the policy and the Principles provide mechanisms to report questions or concerns about possible violations of policies or legal requirements.

These documents can be found at http://www.uphs.upenn.edu/uphsvendor. Selecting the left side link “Vendor Policies (restricted access)” will open the login box. Please enter “uphspolicy” as the User name and “policypass” as the Password.

Please familiarize yourself and your company with these important UPHS policies and Principles. For concerns regarding these matters, please contact the UPHS Office of Billing Compliance and Review Services at 215-349-5423 or billcomp@uphs.upenn.edu.
